Introducing Module 8’s Tuner Variable Look Lens Attachments

Do you find yourself saying "They don't make movies like they used to?" Does your Letterboxd contain titles like The Godfather or Alien? Do you want to achieve an anamorphic style in your videography without buying a whole new lens set? Look no further than the Tuner Variable Look Lens Attachments from Module 8. The tuners come in three subsets to achieve a vintage cinema feel with your cinema grade equipment.

The L1, L2, and L3 tuners all come in ARRI PL and Canon EF lens-mount variations with the option to attach to a Canon RF or Sony E mount mirrorless camera. Currently the tuners are compatible with Canon, Tamron, and Sigma lenses. VariTune technology avoids the need to detune your digital lens and makes for more efficient setup times while supporting autofocus. It can also adjust the strength of each tuner's overall look effect without affecting focus.

Each tuner evokes a different vintage style, allowing you to select one that best suits your creative vision. The L1 tuner is inspired by Baush & Lomb's Super Baltar lens, the same lens that was used on The Godfather. It emulates the same soft, warm glow with a creamy halation across the entire frame.

The L2 tuner is inspired by Canon's K-35 lens, which is known for its use in Alien and the more modern film American Hustle. It emulates a calm glow with softer skin tones at the center of the frame and a slight roll-off.

The L3 tuner is inspired by the lens designer Iain A. Neill and adopts the characteristics of a classic anamorphic lens, such as the unique depth of field. It features a retroscope look with strong astigmatism at the edges and a wide aperture range.

Optical glass construction with aluminum cases makes for durable construction. Standard 0.8 MOD gearing, a 70° adjustment range, and a 1/4"-20 support bracket thread makes for easy integration with your preëxisting gear. A USB port on the tuner allows you to perform firmware updates.
