Atlas Lens Co. Expands the Mercury Anamorphic Prime Lens Line

Get your closeups here! Atlas Lens Co. has just announced an expansion of its Mercury Anamorphic cinema prime lens line and is introducing three new lenses in Group II: 54mm T2.2, 95mm T2.2, and 138mm T2.6 models. These three full-frame anamorphic PL-mount lenses join the 36, 42, and 72mm and share the same look and color characteristics, as well as their compact, lightweight form factor.

The 54, 95, and 138mm lenses also share the 1.5x anamorphic squeeze design to achieve the 2x cinemascope look, providing the same vintage traits, barrel distortion, and oval bokeh that you're used to seeing with anamorphic lenses. Additional characteristics include sharp close focus, low chromatic aberration, and stylishly streaky golden flares.

Their outer diameter and iris/focus barrel positions are also the same as the rest of the line, making it easy to swap out lenses without changing your matte box or follow focus rigging, and their front filter thread is the same 86mm screw-in design.

As with the rest of the line, the lenses can easily be converted with an adapter for use on full-frame cinema or mirrorless cameras with different lens mounts. The three new lenses will be offered as a single-lens or in a future 3-lens set to complete your entire Mercury Anamorphic prime collection.
