Experienced video shooters know that reliable batteries are key to a smooth production and that your choice of a battery charger is part of the process. B&H is pleased to announce several new battery products from Core SWX that will keep your power needs covered, including MACH4 quad chargers in Gold and V-Mount
You may have heard rumors of a new professional battery mount recently and been wondering, “Is that a new battery mount, or should I get my hearing checked?” If you believe what you are hearing is the term “B-Mount” and not “V-Mount,” then you can relax, you got it right. With this first major update to pro batteries in years, ARRI has teamed up with bebob to create what the company hopes will become the new standard for 24-volt batteries, cameras, and related gear: the B-Mount battery. The system is well thought out, as you would expect when
One of the biggest challenges when shooting video on location, especially when you need to stay mobile for a long period of time, is how to keep all your gear powered without adding excessive weight to your rig. When I was out shooting long days handheld, there were many choices to keep the camera and accessories powered for a long shooting day. There’s a wide variety of mobile power options available; decisions on what to choose just depends on a few factors, such as what kind of rig you’re using, weight/portability limitations, and how much
If you’ve ever thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool to have something like a smartphone power bank for running my video equipment?,” the new Syrp Battery Bank could be the answer to your prayers. This pro video component not only delivers a whopping 57Wh, 15600mAh output but does so in a compact, portable form that is a hallmark of Syrp devices. I had the opportunity to work with the Anton/Bauer Titon Base Battery Kit for the Blackmagic Pocket 4K and 6K cameras and jumped at the chance. The Titon Base battery has a QR (Quick Release) plate that allows you to mount your camera on it for a tight shooting package with extended run time. I’m accustomed to using external batteries, since I started with Aaton and ARRI SR film cameras, as well as ENG cameras and

I never fancied myself a passionate lover of a battery charger. That is, until I tried the Nitecore FX1 Dual-Slot USB Travel Charger for FUJIFILM NP-W126 & NP-W126S Batteries. Am I kidding you? No. Seriously, I really, really like, maybe love, this camera battery charger. Why and how did this charger win my heart? Four words: It is freaking cool!
Battery chargers usually come with a new camera except for some USB-charging only cameras.
This is the time of the year that we give and receive great gifts… and if you’re anywhere near the letters “B” and “H” in your Internet searches, you’ll probably be looking at electronics in some shape or form. Sadly, as great as all those electronic gadgets are, they tend to be hungry for power and you need to give some consideration to protecting them and all the information you cram into them. So, for your consideration, here is some gear to help you prepare for the inevitable storms that can wreak havoc on your electronics.

Lithium-ion and lithium metal batteries can pose a fire risk, and that risk is especially dangerous aboard a commercial airliner or cargo aircraft. Most of today’s digital cameras, cine and video cameras, and portable lighting rely on lithium batteries for power and, because of the fire risk, there are regulations for packing them for flight on passenger airliners and cargo aircraft.
For domestic air travel in the United States, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), under the US Department of Transportation (DOT), sets the regulations

Anton/Bauer announces a new lineup of Titon SL and Dionic 26V lithium-ion batteries, as well as battery plates and chargers in Gold Mount, V-Mount, and Gold Mount Plus. The new Titon SL batteries are suitable for powering DSLR, mirrorless, and LED fixtures, as well as powering Digital Cine cameras supporting a continuous 10A draw and 12.5A for up to 5 seconds. Titon SL batteries are smaller and lighter than the preceding Digital series batteries, yet do not sacrifice performance.
The Titon batteries, from Anton Bauer, are an interesting release because they’re entry-level models, yet they have nothing but top features. They were designed without any buttons or an LED gauge, so they can be offered at an accommodating cost. That’s how they were introduced at NAB 2019. Non-essential features were removed to achieve this. But at the same time, they have a 10A output, intelligent algorithm, P-Tap and USB ports, and one of the widest operating temperatures ever. They also feature 1,000 charge/discharge cycles, a large LCD,
