To test the new features of Nikon’s D7200 DSLR and show off its abilities, I took two simple strolls from the B&H SuperStore, at 9th Ave and 34th Street, around our West Side neighborhood, finishing one walk atop the Empire State Building, just four bustling blocks from our offices, and the other on the Highline Park as a lovely spring day was coming to a close. What could I find interesting to photograph in just four blocks, you say? Well, this is New York City, so plenty!

Imagine traveling with a small camera kit that weighs less than 5 pounds and produces photographs worthy of a National Geographic photographer. Imagine being able to shoot all day, walk to the top of the mountain, and not have an aching back? Then imagine returning home and all the post-processing work is done and your images are ready to be printed or posted to your blog. How about traveling with just one rolling suitcase and a small camera bag while avoiding checking-in luggage? In short, carry-on luggage rocks! Checking bags is time

Many years ago, back in the days of wired telephones and film, most photographers did not give white balance (WB) or color temperature much thought. Those who did would carry around color-correction filters to screw onto the front of their lenses that would cancel out the color casts of the artificial or natural light illuminating a scene. If you were paying attention back in those ancient times, you may have noticed that some film was marketed specifically for indoor or outdoor use or specific light sources.
My guess is that many digital

Tamron has recently released the first full-frame-compatible ultra-wide-angle zoom to have a fast f/2.8 constant aperture and built-in image stabilization, the SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens. Despite the seemingly endless grip of late winter upon New York City, I set out to test Nikon’s first DSLR of 2015 in the conditions they alluded to during its release. “I AM CONNECTED CREATIVITY,” screamed the introduction of the D5500, which was positioned next to marketing material highlighting a group of friends living it up on a summer day of relaxation and adventure. Without the scenic Denver backdrop or warm conditions, I still sought out my own connected creativity and sense of adventure with the D5500, a pair of lenses, and my

Since its arrival on the mirrorless scene a year ago, the Fujifilm X-T1, along with its contemporary mirrorless competition, has created quite a splash in the camera market. Mirrorless cameras are quickly catching up to the DSLR realm in terms of speed and performance. Today, the photographer entering the market is faced with a real dilemma when it comes to which interchangeable-lens path to follow—mirror or sans mirror.
