Photo accessory manufacturer Tether Tools has announced its latest generation of USB-C Gen 2 cables, the TetherPro Optima USB-C cable. Available in orange and black colorways, straight and right-angle interface options, four length options, and bundled in kits with other Tether Tools accessories, the new cables aim to deliver data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gb/s for photographers who shoot with tethered workflows.
Dedicated entirely to data transfer, the new cables achieve these high speeds by forgoing power transfer for device charging. The cables are backwards-compatible for use with all USB-C devices, including those with earlier USB-C protocols. The new design promotes transfer speed consistency through reinforced TetherBoosts with high-impact ridges, protecting chipsets and maintaining consistent speeds over long distances. The cables have an insulated casing that eliminates signal interference and is resistant to weather and kinking for long-term usage.
