Dell has announced big changes to its premium XPS laptops, starting with paring the lineup down to just three models: the XPS 16, XPS 14, and XPS 13. Name changes aside, these systems pack considerable power into thin, light form factors and have stunning displays that let you create high-quality content from almost anywhere.
All the XPS laptops will feature Dell’s signature Gorilla Glass 3 InfinityEdge displays with OLED and multi-touch options. A dedicated touch row allows you to switch easily between media and function keys, while the backlit keyboard and haptic touchpad help to ensure smooth productivity. Inside, the laptops are powered by Intel®’s Core™ Ultra processors, which have a built-in AI acceleration engine and neural processing unit to enhance performance with AI workloads while preserving battery life.
Of the three models, the newly introduced XPS 16 stands out with support for up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 185H 16-core processor. It may also be outfitted with a 16.3" UHD 4K 3840 x 2400-resolution OLED touchscreen that delivers Dolby Vision enhanced visuals with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, along with 400-nit brightness and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The stunning screen may be backed by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 4060, or 4050 graphics to accelerate rendering tasks.
The Dell XPS 14 delivers many of the same features as the XPS 16, but supports up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Processor 165H 16-core processor. It may be outfitted with a 14.5" 3.2K (3200 x 2000) OLED touch display and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. The XPS 14 and XPS 16 have three Thunderbolt™ 4 ports and a built-in microSDXC card reader that allow you to transfer files quickly with compatible devices.
Lastly, the Dell XPS 13 delivers high portability, weighing around 2.6 pounds. Its 13.4" display may include a 3K 2880 x 1800 resolution OLED touchscreen with 500-nit brightness and 100% sRGB coverage, powered by integrated Intel® Arc™ Graphics. Two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports are included.
All three Dell XPS models may be outfitted with up to 64GB of onboard LPDDR5x memory and a 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. They also feature Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, which helps to ensure smooth video calls with the Full HD webcam and dual-array microphones. Additionally, the Dolby Atmos quad speaker system with Waves MaxxAudio Pro surround sound delivers immersive entertainment.

Apple MacBook Pro's are hard to beat in terms of battery life, performance, design, and Mac OS integration. Dell is a close contender (minus performance and battery life) if you absolutely need a Windows computer. I'm a Linux guy, I think this laptop would be great for having a native Linux laptop.
