At CES 2019, Panasonic aims to blend physical with digital, thus creating a platform that helps consumers realize the future of technology in our everyday lives, seamlessly. This extends from cameras to motorcycles and a bevy of additional products and experiences. Highlights include the next generation of Lumix imaging, the S1 and S1R, which represent Panasonic’s first foray into full-frame mirrorless digital cameras. The cameras use lenses that were developed as part of the L-Mount alliance, a collaboration with Leica and Sigma. This means all the lenses will be interchangeable so that many more options can be available to consumers. Also announced was the GZ2000 OLED television, which supports HLG Photo from the S Series cameras, plus Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and upwards-firing Dolby Atmos speakers. Stepping back to analog tech, the Technics line brings us the SL-1200 MK7 Direct Drive Turntable. It stars a coreless direct-drive motor that will help to eliminate “cogging” when spinning at slower speeds for smooth playback, adding to its appeal for scratch DJs. Finally, the HomeX smart home platform aims to control all IoT devices in your home.
