Zhiyun wants your smartphone gimbal to do all the heavy lifting when tracking fast-moving subjects, so they designed the new Smooth 5S AI 3-Axis Smartphone Gimbal and AI Tracker. The Smooth 5S AI features several improvements over its predecessor, the Smooth 5S, including enhanced subject tracking.
The basic gimbal package features the gimbal, USB-C charging cable, and a mini tripod. The gimbal also retains all the great features of the Smooth 5S with multiple upgrades to its physical design. The control panel has been redesigned and reinforced for aggressive motion shoots, offering all the controls you need at your fingertips. Its improved, ergonomic grip is lined with silicone to offer comfort during long shots. The 3-axis arms now have a clear, textured design for easy adjustments, and its high-torque motors have been enhanced for even smoother movements.
A powerful, built-in 2600mAh battery can be charged to full in only 2 hours and depending on movements and temperature considerations, the gimbal can run for up to a whopping 26 hours. To light your scenes, the Smooth 5S AI retains the same built-in fill light and magnetic accessory mounting to add optional external fill lights on either side of your smartphone. And it now makes room for a new magnetic accessory: the AI Tracker.
The AI Tracker is a hardware add-on that enhances Zhiyun’s software tracking algorithm and provides even more precise subject tracking. It pops onto the gimbal’s magnetic mount, allowing you to quickly acquire and re-acquire subjects after obscuring, reframing, or light interference using rapid target lock. Gesture mode is also enhanced and tracked with the AI Tracker, so you can control your start/stop and tracking functions using hand gestures from a distance.
Zhiyun’s ZY Cami software is also available for download with its intelligent algorithms to control follow modes, live controls, smart mode, editing, and sharing. By downloading StaCam software, you can control your framing, focal length adjustments, and more advanced settings to control your smartphone camera.
If you want to add the AI Tracker to your Smooth 5S AI gimbal, it is included in the standard Combo Kit. If you need to add more light to your scenes, the Pro Combo Kit includes everything in the Combo Kit plus one magnetic fill light, a fill light filter set, a wrist strap, and a carry bag.
