Buying new gadgets is thrilling, but if you run out of mounting space on your camera rig, some of that excitement turns to the dread of “Where will I put this?” Be prepared for any form of gear expansion with the Wooden Camera Accessory Plates and say goodbye to the days of jury-rigging accessories to your camera.
The full accessory ecosystem features a variety of aluminum plates with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads, 15mm rod mounts, mini rails, and clamps to connect them to one another. A cube-shaped Bolt-On Accessory Rail Clamp and Dual 15mm Rod Clamp offer 15mm rod and mini-rail compatibility, as well as 3/8"-16 threads, to your rig. The Universal Accessory Hinge is ideal for monitors because it offers the option to tilt the mounted accessory 90°. Accessory plates of various sizes feature numerous mounting threads with written indicators of where to attach accessories, such as Teradek lens motors and follow focus systems.
Some of the most interesting features of the accessory line are the hook-and-loop covered plates—four with M2.5 threads and three with integrated 3/6"-16 or 1/4"-20 screws. While freelance cinematographers might be accustomed to attaching hook-and-loop patches to the side of their camera cages, that is a concern of the past. Square plates ranging from 2 x 2" to 5 x 5" and rectangular bolt-on plates ranging from 2 x 2" to 4 x 1.5" are covered in a hook-and-loop pad for attaching a wireless transmitter unit, timecode box, or other small accessories.
