V-mount batteries have become a staple of SmallRig’s offerings, and the rugged X-Touch Smart Triple-Proof X99 is an interesting evolution of their existing 99Wh options. The X-Touch is 14.5V and 8600mAh, IP54-rated for water and dustproofing, and drop-resistant up to 4.9’. It supports 100W fast charging via two USB-C ports, and also features two D-Tap outputs, a USB-A port, and a variety of DC outputs. The USB-C PD fast charging allows it to go from 0 to 100% in just two hours. An interesting new feature with the X-Touch is the ability to individually control each output via the 2” touchscreen display or a free smartphone app. The app will also show battery levels, help locate the battery, and be used for firmware updates.
Portable COB lights are another SmallRig staple, and the RC 100C represents a solid new entry. The light can output 11,000 lux at 3.3’ with the included reflector, and has an impressive CCT range of 2500-10,000K. The light weights only 1.6 lb and measures 4.5 x 3.7 x 3.7". Expect 12 different effects, as well as HSI, RGBCW, and GEL modes to help get creative. The RC 100C can be powered via USB-C or an AC to DC power adapter that’s included in the Pro Version alongside a light stand adapter. Control is via the 1.4” LCD screen, a smartphone app, or DMX via a separately available adapter. The light is also available with a Battery Grip handle and Bowens mount adapter.
The Boom ST30 is a souped-up selfie stick, with one-button deployment and a stepless working height range of 12.2 to 57.9". It supports smartphones up to 2.2 lb with 1.6 to 3.9” widths. It’s tripod-feet-style base can be used on a wide variety of terrains, and the ST30 even has a cold shoe mount for lights, microphones, or other accessories. Additionally, there’s a magnetically attached Bluetooth remote included with a wireless range of up to 32.8’. The selfie stick folds down to 12.2” for storage, and supports both horizontal and vertical phone positioning.
Last but not least, SmallRig’s popular TRIBEX carbon fiber tripod, with its unique single clutch hydraulic system for rapid adjustments, is now available in a legs-only configuration that can support up to 55 lb. Previously the TRIBEX was bundled with a SmallRig fluid head.
