Fans of expressive large-format imagery can now turn to Sigma’s Aizu Prime Cine series for a consistent organic, moderately sharp look. Each of the 12 lenses across the Aizu series will feature a 46.3mm image circle that covers full-frame and large format sensors and an ultrafast T1.3 maximum aperture.
The initial release of eight Aizu primes in ARRI PL and Sony E-mount 25, 27, 32, 35, 40, 50, 65 and 75mm focal lengths will be supplemented by wide-angle 18 and 21mm and telephoto 100 and 125mm lenses. Quietly elegant and natural, all focal lengths offer a consistent look with minimal breathing and distortion and balanced color, contrast, and flare characteristics.
Sigma’s Aizu lenses are the first to maintain a uniform T1.3 across all the focal lengths in the series from 18 to 125mm. This wide-open maximum enables an exceedingly shallow depth of field with subject separation that draws viewers into your frame while maintaining a natural sense of depth. Notably short minimum focus distances help to create close-up visual tension.
With an image circle of 46.3mm, Aizu primes can cover not only full-frame and Super 35 sensors but are compatible with large-format camera options like ARRI ALEXA LF Open Gate and VistaVision. Their cine-style design features a lightweight compact form, 0.8 MOD gears, and luminous paint for all lens markings.
