TASCAM Announces New Model 2400 24-Track Analog Recording and Live Mixing Console

The Model 2400 is incredibly versatile without compromising its mixing capabilities. It improves on the Model 24 in a plethora of ways, from expanded routing capabilities to talkback functionality and app control.

The Model 2400 includes a 24-track integrated recorder, which can record directly to SDXC cards with full punch-in/punch-out support. You can also use its USB audio interface (via USB-B) for full 24 x 22 recording duties, an especially useful function for live recording. The ability to record with or without a computer adds to the console’s flexibility, and the integrated DAW transport controls and REC READY control via HUI/MCU means you can use the Model 2400 for practically any studio or stage application.

The console includes 12 TASCAM ultra HDDA (High-Definition Discrete Architecture) XLR preamp inputs for mics with selectable phantom power per 4-channel blocks. Furthermore, you get five aux sends (four aux plus internal FX), four stereo subgroups, 12 inserts (plus stereo master inserts), and the main L/R output. With MIDI I/O (MTC or MIDI Clock/SPP), you can use the console as a MIDI interface for controlling MIDI gear and syncing timings with external MIIDI devices, plus a ¼” audio click output with tap tempo function.

With the Meter Bridge app, you can take advantage of a digital meter bridge by connecting the Model 2400 via USB to a Windows or macOS computer. With Meter Bridge, you can set peak hold times and monitor the input, MIDI, or USB signals, all while being able to scale the GUI from a small window to fullscreen. Take it even further by porting the app to a dedicated monitor of your choosing.
