JBL Announces the PRX925 and PRX935 PA Systems

JBL, an established leader in PA speaker technology, is announcing two new additions to its best-selling PRX900 Series, the two-way PRX925 and three-way PRX935 PA systems with Bluetooth and advanced DSP Control. Both models have been designed for larger spaces and applications, offering increased SPL and enhanced low-end and midrange performance.

The PRX925 features dual 15-inch woofers powered by a 2000W amplifier. It delivers a frequency response of 54 Hz to 17 kHz and boasts up to 137.7 dB output. Combined with its 90 by 50-degree coverage pattern, the PRX925 is an optimal choice for bands, DJs, clubs and other large venues where ample power and reach is required.

Meanwhile, the 2000W PRX935 sports a single 15-inch woofer, and a dedicated 6-inch midrange driver in a three-way design. It features a frequency response of 46 Hz to 18 kHz and a maximum output of 136dB.  Although well-suited for music performance, this model effectively accommodates situations where enhanced mid-range and vocal clarity are essential, such as houses of worship, schools and corporate venues.

Both speakers have built-in Bluetooth that offers wireless control of the systems using the free Pro Connect companion app, which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

The onboard DSP with full-color LCD display can also be regulated via the Pro Connect app to control levels, 12-band parametric EQ, user presets, and user-defined delay. Both models also feature Automatic Feedback Suppression, ensuring minimal interference, even when microphones are positioned close to the speakers.

In addition, the app can control up to 10 Pro Connect-enabled systems and speakers, allowing you to expand your setup as needed. In fact, both models can combine with additional speakers and subwoofers in a variety of configurations to serve the needs of both mobile scenarios and more permanent installations. With two integrated side handles, a single 36mm pole socket and eight M10 suspension points, both the PRX925 and PRX935 are ready for any kind of performance situation.

Power and clarity remain at the forefront of JBL’s new design. The 2000W class-D power amps on both models deliver improved acoustic transparency and definition, even at maxed out volumes. Furthermore, the company has implemented high quality DAC and ADC technology to deliver near-lossless audio conversion. To keep noise to a minimum, JBL has also employed a bridged woofer amp to keep current spikes out of the grown and lower crosstalk harmonics to the compression driver. The high linearity inductors also provide fantastic power efficiency while maintaining low total harmonic distortion.

JBL has designed both models with longevity in mind, integrating Duraflex coating in an 18mm birch cabinet with optimized bracing for enhanced durability and a smooth, accurate low-end response.  And all components undergo a 100-hour stress test to exceed expectations in performance. But for those still worried about their speakers failing, JBL provides added reassurance by offering an impressive 7-year warranty.

The PRX925 comes in at a little over 82 pounds, while the PRX935 three-way model is just over 80 pounds. The two-way PRX925 is also a little larger than the PRX935, measuring 41.6 x 17.5 x 17.1 inches.
