If you haven't heard of Nextorage, that's because the brand is relatively new. Established as a Sony subsidiary that got its start making PS5 SSDs in 2019, Nextorage is a newcomer to storage space. Let's consider some of the brand's storage-based products below.
Nextorage's bread and butter are memory solutions, which means you can expect staples like SD cards or CFexpress Type B cards to make up a nice chunk of its catalog. The brand offers two different models of CFexpress Type B cards that come with slightly different specs. The NX-B1PRO Series is aimed at those who work with large-format video and comes in 165GB, 330GB, 660GB, or 1330GB capacities with a minimum 1950 MB/s read speed and maximum 1900 MB/s write speed. It also supports VPG400, which means this card allows you to capture cinema-quality 4K/8K video without ever dropping its write speed south of 400 MB/s. The other CFexpress Type B cards labeled as the NX-B1SE series come in 128GB and 256GB versions. There's also an NX-B2SE series similar to a 512GB card in capacity. In general, these cards are similar to the Pro series, with 1950 MB/s read speeds and 1900 MB/s write speeds. They do, however, have lower sustained minimum speeds that clock in at 200 MB/s. The brand also offers its own card readers. Its NX-SB1SE reader has transfer speeds up to 20GB/s and is designed to be used with CFexpress Type B cards.
Nextorage also offers other types of memory cards: the NX-F2 series and the NX-F2SE series SD cards. These SD cards are UHS-II Class 10 memory cards, but the NX-F2 Pro Series cards are a little bit faster and deliver maximum read speeds of 300 MB/s and maximum write speeds of 299 MB/s. They support V90 for 8K video recording and come in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities. The NX-F2SE Series cards, on the other hand, offer maximum read speeds of up to 280 MB/s and slightly different write speeds, depending on the version of the card you buy. This card comes in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB capacities and is V60-certified for capturing video at 4K.
The company also carries various kinds of SSDs, too. Its NX-P2SE Series portable SSDs come in 1TB or 2TB capacities. They feature maximum read speeds of 1050MB/s and maximum write speeds of 1000MB/s. Nextorage even makes compact form factor SSDs, like the AtomX SSDmini, which are designed specifically for Atomos recorders like the Ninja V, Ninja V+, Shogun 7, Neon, Ninja, and Ninja ultra. According to Nextorage, it’s even compatible with the Sumo 19, Ninja CAST, and Shogun Studio 2. It comes in 500GB and 1TB capacities and 550 MB/s read speeds and 500 MB/s write speeds.
Whether you just need more memory cards for an upcoming shoot or you’re looking for an SSD to back up your device, Nextorage has a selection of competitively priced devices that offer capable performance in most cases.
