Litepanels Announces Upgraded Astra IP LED Light Panels

Litepanels has announced the release of its latest line of bi-color LED light panels, the Astra IP. The second series of lights from Litepanels to carry the name “Astra,” this new group comes in three sizes—the Half, 1x1, and 2x1—designed to provide a portable, powerful, high-quality lighting solution for film and television production.

Designed to perform in the studio and out in the world, the two smaller units weigh less than ten pounds—lightweight enough to be handheld—while the largest is still wieldy at 17.2 pounds. Powerful for their size, the three units have top lux outputs of 13,500, 27,000, and 49,500 at 3.3' without diffusion. All three lights are rated at 95 for the CRI and TLCI standards of color accuracy, adding quality to the Astra IP’s advantages of power and size.

The other highlight of the Astra IP series is its durable, IP65-rated build. Litepanels says the units are water-resistant, weatherproof, and intended to perform in any environment. To this end, there are three plates available separately for Gold mount, V-mount, and BP-U mount batteries all bearing the same dust-, water-, and snow-defiant construction. Additionally, the lights are easy to control both individually and as a group, with integrated Bluetooth available for app-based wireless control or onboard control with the dual-dial, LCD combo. The lights are also compatible with wired DMX control options available separately.

Litepanels is also making both the Half and 1x1 units available in two-light and three-light manufacturer’s kits that bundle the lighting units with light stands, Gold and V-mount battery plates, and a carrying case.
