LG Announces New OLED evo TV Lineup at CES 2025

At CES 2025, LG announced several new additions to its popular lineup of evo OLED TVs, including the top-of-the-line G5 OLED and the wireless M5 OLED. The new models utilize LG’s latest AI-driven picture-processing technology and customization features to deliver best-in-class picture quality and a bespoke viewing experience that’s tailored to each individual user.

Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 2

The evo panels feature LG’s upgraded Brightness Booster Ultimate technology to achieve brightness three times higher than the standard OLED models. Brightness is important, but OLED TVs are all about that rich, accurate color. Not only did these displays receive UL Solutions’ “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color” verification, they’re certified by Intertek for 100% color fidelity. To enhance that level of accuracy, the new Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation accurately detects the lighting conditions in the room and automatically adjusts the picture settings to maintain the filmmaker’s original intent. Additionally, LG is touting the ability of its AI-driven processor to sharpen and upscale low-resolution content.

To complement the enhanced visuals, the AI processing applies to the sound as well. AI sound Sound pro Pro delivers 11.1.2 channels of virtual surround sound that will adapt to the content as well as personal preferences. By analyzing over 1.6 billion image settings and 40 million sound profiles, the AI Picture and Sound Wizard tailors audio and visual modes for each user, creating a customized entertainment experience.

A full suite of AI-driven features and settings will learn your preferences and monitor your environment to provide a personalized and streamlined experience while optimizing picture and sound. AI voice Voice ID will recognize individual voices and automatically switch profiles. AI Search understands conversational context to make it easier to find the content you’re looking for. AI Chatbot proactively identifies potential user challenges and offers solutions.

Go Wireless with the M5

The M5 series receives wireless audio and video transmission from the included LG Zero Connect Box, at up to 4K at 144Hz without loss or latency. All you need to connect to the TV is power, and the Zero Connect Box can be connected to your components and hidden in a cabinet or closet. Certified by NVIDIA G-Sync, the M5 ensures a tear-free, stutter-free gaming experience.

Enhanced Gaming with the G5

The new evo G5 Series is sure to be top choice for gamers looking for a big screen experience. It includes a 4K OLED panel with 165 Hz refresh rate, variable refresh rate (VRR), and supports both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. The OLED evo TVs are the first to receive ClearMR 10000 certification by VESA, which means seamless visuals during fast-paced scenes. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to access their library of games through the TVs dashboard, without a console.

webOS and the Internet of Things (IoT)

The user-friendly webOS returns, faster, more convenient, and more personalized. webOS now supports multi-platform integration with the Home Hub, seamlessly connecting with ThinQ and Google Home for control of various IoT devices. Manage all your devices and control your smart home ecosystem through the TVs onscreen interface. LG promises an up-to-date experience with software updates for the next five years.
