Great Tech Gifts for Father’s Day

Great Tech Gifts for Father’s Day

Fathers—you can’t get them anything because they keep on buying things for themselves. But what if you can find the one thing he didn’t know he needed? Well, that’s why I’m here. Today, I am going to tell you about some of the best tech-related gifts you can get dad this year all depending on the type of dad he is. Does he love sitting back and watching his favorite shows? Is he a business professional? Maybe he spends hours upon hours playing video games. No matter what he does, we have something in mind for him.

Fathers Day Tech Gifts

The Casual Dad

Casual dads out there whose lives don’t fully revolve around computers but still need one every so often to check emails and surf the web will find a ton of utility in the Apple MacBook Air. I personally really find this device to be the quintessential go-to laptop for these lightweight applications. The way it balances performance and price is also a huge plus.

When it comes to dads and computers, perhaps a good easy-to-use accessory would do the trick. Logitech, one of my favorite brands out there, recently released their latest Signature Comfort Plus series of mice and keyboards. This combo pairs both the mouse and keyboard into a single convenient bundle, giving you two peripherals that are designed for long-lasting performance thanks to the integrated foam rests found within the palm rest of the keyboard and the top of the mouse!

Sometimes your dad just wants something simple. Something easier than a laptop or any other fancy box with cables that sits next to a big ole monitor. This is when I can suggest something like the Apple 11” iPad with the A16 chip. It boasts impressive performance within a slim and lightweight form factor. If they happen to prefer Android-based devices, the Samsung 8” Galaxy Tab Active5 is a great alternative that also features a stylus that can be stowed away within the body of this rugged device.

The Professional Dad

The business dad is hard to pin down. He might be on phone calls, chatting it up with clients, and tends to bring his devices with him wherever he goes. If he’s looking for an upgrade, may we suggest the Dell 15.6” Pro Essential 15 Laptop or the Apple 13” MacBook Air with the M4 chip. Both systems are entirely capable of sifting through spreadsheets, drafting documents, and a whole lot more! They also both have robust connectivity options suitable for the working parents.

Maybe he already has a work laptop. If that is the case, I can suggest grabbing a solid peripheral that prevents wrist and hand pain. The Logitech ERGO K860 Wireless Split is a fantastic keyboard that splits keys into multiple sections making it easier to type. This will add a sense of relief and reduce pain. As for a mouse, the MX Vertical Advanced Ergonomic Mouse is a fantastic mouse made to also reduce strain within hands and forearms. We have bundled these to devices together, making it easier to just grab both in one shot!

Another solid device to help link his gear together in a solid and seamless setup is the OWC Thunderbolt 5 Hub. This offers a myriad of options when it comes to connectivity, enabling your laptop to become a fully fledged workstation. I would say that OWC’s 11-Port Thunderbolt 5 Dock is a fantastic alternative which prioritizes ports for additional connectivity.

The Entertainment Lover

As a father myself, sometimes crawling up on the couch and into a blanket after a long day and immediately passing out the second a show or movie gets interesting is a rite of passage. Just because we tend to enter the snooze state ten minutes in doesn’t mean we can’t have a TV with crispy visuals and smooth images. This is why I can easily suggest an LG OLED evo AI C5 television.

As the owner of an LG C3, I can say that I have fully trusted LG’s OLED technology to give me the stunning visuals and smoothness for my games and movies alike! Models go up to all sorts of sizes, allowing you to curate the size of the TV to the wall it will hang off from.

If you are looking for an accessory for his TV whether it is new or old, you can enhance the sound with the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar. Not only is this well suited for games and movies, but it features a ton of other connectivity options with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Spotify Connect to play his favorite tunes while he’s working on something else. The BRAVIA Theater Bar 6 is also a solid alternative, delivering high-quality sound whether you are watching TV shows, movies, or simply playing games.

For the father that likes to collect digital media instead of streaming everything, I have to suggest the Panasonic DPUB820-K 4K UHD Blu-ray Player. Quality-wise, it does a fantastic job at ensuring the visuals remain crisp and clean! We get full UHD playback with near-4K upscaling, ideal for seeing every little detail!

The Gamer Dad

Dads on the move might not have all the time in the world to play the games they love and adore. This is why I suggest handheld gaming devices like the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally. It is a great handheld PC that is able to play a wide breath of games at home or on the daily commute on a train.

Stationary dads on the other hand could prolyl use an upgrade in the visuals department. Upgrading their monitor is also a solid option! Displays like the ASUS ROG Strix OLED X32UCDS gaming monitor makes an excellent addition to the PC gamer arsenal. I recently reviewed the monitor and found it absolutely amazing especially with the high-resolution OLED panel. For the dads like me who do prefer a much wider view, the UltraGear OLED 34GX900A-B is also a solid choice thanks to the 21:9 aspect ratio which can fully immerse players into their games.

The competitive gaming dad may want a mouse that not only immerses them in their games but adds a level of fluidity to their experience. May I suggest the Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming mouse, which I think is one of the best gaming mice out there, especially for FPS players. You can read about my experience with it right here, but to put it simply, the mouse uses haptic feedback and smooth tracking to enhance aim and provide a realistic feeling when running, jumping, and more!

Some fathers like to take their gaming experiences to new heights. Getting them a racing wheel would fully immerse them in their favorite games! Logitech G has two wheels, the G20 for Xbox and the G29 for PlayStation 4, 5, and PC. Both of these include the main wheelbase and pedals, offering realistic feel when taking various turns on the speedway.

Another cool peripheral that I personally have my eye on is the Logitech G X52 H.O.T.A.S. Throttle and Stick Simulation Controller. This is a high-quality flight stick that features a bunch of buttons and switches alongside a separate throttle mechanism aimed to immerse players into flying games. You also get illuminated buttons, adjustable throttle, advanced grip systems, and more! This model is made specifically for PC players.

The Streamer

Some fathers who love to play games might actually also love getting into the world of streaming to platforms like YouTube or Twitch. Which in case, requires some gear. Capture devices like the Elgato Game Capture 4KS is great for inserting gameplay into your scene! He’ll also need a webcam for visuals of himself, and the easiest recommendation I can make is the Logitech C920s HD Pro Webcam, which is strong, reliable, and has been one of the best starter cameras suggested by many streamers within the industry! After all, you have to get started somewhere.

Microphone-wise, because he will need one, I suggest the Audio-Technica AT2040USB. Not only is it quick and easy to set up, but it also has all the makings of a solid USB mic. Personally, this is one that I use and Audio-Technica has never let me down! If they want a bit of extra sound quality and greater control, I suggest pairing the Audio-Technica AT2020 microphone with the Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB-C Audio Interface. All you will need is an XLR cable to go from the interface to the microphone, and audio will be all set up for streaming, podcasting, and even chatting with others. A mic arm would also be great, and I have come to like the Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro in this regard as it has a low profile that is easy to swing around and maneuver for the best sound.

The Creative

If your dad is an artist looking to take their work to the digital landscape, devices like Apple’s 13” iPad Pro with M5 chip is excellent! Not only does the large Ultra Retina XDR OLED display provide excellent high-resolution visuals, but it makes a great canvas for all sorts of projects. Of course, I would pair this with the Apple Pencil Pro for the ultimate drawing experience.

If they are looking for a more traditional way of expressing their artistic side, Wacom has the 14” MovinkPad Pro. This complete package contains the tablet itself with a stylus, which provides you with the tablet and a stylus. With high-quality visuals, an expansive canvas, and a high brightness level, your dad can draw without being tethered to his computer.

I must also mention the Logitech MX Master 4 mouse which feels absolutely amazing in the hands. Not only does it feature a ton of customizable options found within the free-to-download Logi Options+ app, it uses haptic feedback to elevate your control options to make this the true, masterful mouse that has ever graced the top of my desk.
