Teenage Engineering Announces EP-1320: World’s First Electronic Medieval Instrument
08/07/2024Hear ye! Hear ye! Following up on the successful launch of the EP-133 K.O. II sampler, teenage engineering is introducing a truly unique new entry to its EP line: the EP-1320 Medieval Instrumentalis Electronicum. This one-of-a-kind medieval-themed sampler and composer features hundreds of expertly recorded medieval instruments, all in pristine 46 kHz / 16-bit resolution.
Travel back to ye olden days using the EP-1320’s vast library of built-in medieval sounds. From strings and bows to drums, percussion, and even medieval-themed foley sounds (like sword clashes and dragons), the EP-1320 encourages you to unleash the magic of these ancient sounds in unexpected ways, like an alchemist seeking the philosopher’s stone.
Like the EP-133, the EP-1320 features a stereo 3.5mm line input and an internal microphone for sampling your own sounds in seconds. The Medieval sports 96MB of hardwired sounds and 32MB of user storage for 128MB total. You get six stereo or 12 mono voices to work with, along with a high-resolution sequencer, seven medieval effects (such as torture chamber and dungeon reverb), and 12 punch-in “pocus”, which are exclusive to the EP-1320. Of course, you also get typical EP control features such as pressure- and velocity-sensitive keys (whimsically referred to as “paeds”), chop, loop, and MIDI sync over 3.5mm TRS.
Become the bard of your dreams with one-shot samples from instruments like the hurdy gurdy, citole, bowed harp, gittern, bagpipes, shawn, flutes, trumpets, frame drums, tambourines, chain rattles, battle toms, clappers, bells, and coconut horse hooves. Or, discover your inner troubadour with Demus mode, allowing you to choose between nine medieval songs and jam along with the sounds and instruments across the four banks. Add some punch-in FX (pocus), and you’ll send the tavern floor into a frenzy.
