CES 2019: Litra Goes for 2.0 with Upgraded LitraTorch

One of the best adventure lights just got even better, with the launch of the LitraTorch 2.0. It may look the same, keeping the shape and form factor, but upgrades light quality and durability. Using 16 LEDs now, the LitraTorch 2.0 maintains the 800-, 450-, and 100-lumen settings while achieving a CRI of 90+ and TLCI of 92 with 5700K color temperature. This also means improved optics with its 70-degree beam angle. What makes it an adventure light is its rugged and compact build, which is now able to reach underwater depths of 60', twice that of its predecessor.

I handled the LitraTorch 2.0 at CES, and was seriously impressed. Mounted on my Sony a7 III's hot shoe, it took up practically no space—much less than a flash would have, and was extremely bright. The one button made it super intuitive to operate and, being continuous, I could also use it for video. The light also felt super solid and well made. A drop or two won't hurt this light in the slightest, backing up its adventure focus.

Another light at CES was an Innovation Awards Nominee this year: the LitraPro. By going a little bit larger, Litra was able to create an amazingly featured portable adventure light, and give it a bi-color design from 3000-6000K. Sixty LEDs are used in this model, with a CRI of 95 and a maximum 1200-lumen output. It measures 2.75 x 2 x 1.2" and weighs only 6 oz. It has a super-rugged build, just like the Torch, which is waterproof to 90' and drop tested. This model will run for 45 minutes at maximum power on the integrated rechargeable battery, and offers Bluetooth for remote control. On the unit itself is an OLED display to check and change settings with ease.

The LitraPro is available now and the LitraTorch 2.0 should be available very soon. Have you had a chance to use any of Litra's products before? Is this something appealing to you?
