0Share

Small businesses ranging from cafes to tech startups can now look to Instant On 1930 Managed Switches from Aruba to expand their networks with wired IP cameras, network attached storage (NAS) drives, VoIP phones, and other devices. The newly revealed network switch series includes seven models in 8, 24, and 48 Gigabit Ethernet port configurations, with or without power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support, and up to four 10Gb SFP connectors for fiber optic cables. Each is designed to support high-bandwidth applications such as surveillance and video conferencing while providing security and room for expansion.

Each Instant On 1930 switch features an 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 512MB of RAM and 256MB flash storage to optimize network traffic quickly, with a switching capacity of up to 176 Gb/s and a 130.95 Mpps forwarding rate. You can add the rack-mountable switches to your network with relative ease, since they’re discovered automatically by other Instant On devices. Or, take a more hands-on approach by configuring the switches and their connected devices using the cloud-hosted web interface and mobile app. These managed switches also include a comprehensive suite of security features to help deter malicious activities, such as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

The PoE-compliant models provide up to 30W per port and support class 4 PoE devices such as video IP phones and multi-position IP security cameras without any additional wires or cables. Instant On 1930 switches are compatible with 15.4 W IEEE 802.3af-compliant devices, so you can upgrade your equipment at your preferred pace. Additionally, up to two 1Gb SFP ports are available on the 8-port models, and four 10Gb SFP+ ports are on the 24- and 48-port switches for fiber optic connections. Fiber optic cables, which carry data across longer distances than copper cables, allow you to add compatible devices and uplinks that help eliminate bottlenecks as your network grows, with plenty of room for expansion in the future.
