G-Technology's G-DRIVE mobile USB Type-C External Hard Drive is a portable storage solution featuring a sleek aluminum design in stylish colors, ideal for matching your Apple MacBook. Available in Silver, Space Gray, and Gold, as well as in capacities ranging from 1TB, 2TB, to 4TB, this hard drive uses a single reversible USB Type-C connector for power and transferring data. Supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1, it's built with a 5400 rpm hard drive that offers a maximum transfer speed of 140 MB/s. It's also important to note that the Type-C interface is compatible with Thunderbolt™ 3-equipped systems; however, it will not provide you with Thunderbolt 3 speeds. For broader compatibility, a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable is included. The mobile USB Type-C External Hard Drive is preformatted in HFS+ for macOS 10.11 and later systems, and can also be used with Windows 10, 8.1, and 7 systems via a simple reformat. Thats the big problem with marketing. Use the word Thunderbolt 3 but it really doesn’t run at those speeds. I know they say it but look at the big blue graphic logo. I won’t buy from companies that market this way. It’s misleading.
